LHA is February Campbell County Chamber of Commerce & Tourism “Business of the Month”

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- “There’s a legacy of hope here,” said Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch. The mayor was referencing the La Follette Housing Authority during the gathering to celebrate LHA as the “Business of the Month”.

Working during summers at LHA was one of Lynch’s first jobs. He said the conference room where the gathering took place was the area where tools and mowers were once stored during his time at LHA. “It’s amazing at all the change and improvement over the years,” said Lynch.
The LHA mission is providing affordable housing for the area which includes Campbell and six other counties and 12 cities. “We’re outside the box here with the Boys & Girls Club in the Dewey Hunter Center on the LHA campus plus LHA owns the former La Follette Post Office building on South Tennessee Avenue which is leased to Postmark La Follette,” said John Snodderly, Executive Director of the La Follette Housing Authority. “We’re unique in that way,” adds Snodderly.

Missy Tackett congratulated Snodderly and his staff expressing how happy she is to have LHA as the February “Business of the Month”. Tackett is the Executive Director of the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

Snodderly expressed how glad he and his staff are to partner with the community. “They’re a great community partner,” said Lynch.
“We are in a housing crisis in this country for affordable housing, and that’s one reason why we have a waiting list,” said Snodderly. With more than 1,100 units LHA -wide, it is a challenge and keeps them on their toes, according to Snodderly.
“I am so blessed. We have such a good group of people here. They make my job easy,” said Snodderly.
