JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – John R. W. Brown Gymnasium hosted a signing on Friday afternoon. Campbell County High School Lady Cougar softball standout Keira Bierdemann signed her letter of commitment for St. Mary’s College in Notre Dame, Indiana.

“We’re blown away and proud of Keira,” said CCHS Co-Athletic Director Olivia Lobertini. “She put in countless hours of hard work, set a goal, and achieved it.” She went on to say how it is always special to see Cougar student-athletes doing things the right way and getting rewarded for their efforts.

“I was kind of holding out on the St. Mary’s offer, because I went on a visit there and knew that it was where I wanted to be.” Bierdemann, having grown up a Fighting Irish fan, loved the fact that the Belles share a campus with Notre Dame University.

Bierdemann, who plans on majoring in nursing, is also interested in the field of exercise science. “They have a really good program for what I want to major in, and I just loved it (St. Mary’s)” Bierdemann added.

Keira has had quite the career so far at CC, her biggest accomplishment having been eclipsing the 200-strikeout mark. Bierdemann is also a shortstop for the Lady Cougars, and she plans on still playing both positions at St. Mary’s.

Bierdemann received all district honors this past season

The Lady Cougar standout, who has already had great memories such as “the home district win against Oak Ridge, and just all of the home games at CC”, still has one year left on the softball field and is excited to be a part of the squad one last season before heading up north to St. Mary’s College.  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 12-22-25 6AM)
