Joe Walter Cook, born on November 10, 1938, in Block, Tennessee, was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who peacefully entered the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 16, 2026, at UT Medical Center of Knoxville.

He loved gardening but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Joe had heart for helping others, especially during Hurricane Katrina and through the food pantry.

A cherished member of the Thirteenth Street Faith Tabernacle Church of God, Joe was deeply devoted to his faith. He loved worshipping the Lord and found strength through his church community.

He is preceded in death by his parents Harrison and Velma Cook, his grandson, Dominic Maiorano, and several brothers and sisters.

Joe leaves behind a loving wife, Doris Cook of LaFollette. His children, Randy Cook, Kellye Ann Maiorano and her husband Jeff, and Connie Cook all of Ohio. Also, as a stepfather to Malcolm Randolph and his wife Hollie of Maryville, Sabrina Brewer and her husband Gordon of Harriman, Michelle Seiber and her husband Jamie, and Jamie Lloyd and her husband Johnathon both of Jacksboro. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Jacob Cook and Michael Maiorano, as well as his step-grandchildren, Shawn and Mikayla Malicoat, Shelby Brewer, and Jonathan Bolton. Joe’s family also includes three great-grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 19, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thirteenth Street Faith Tabernacle Church of God followed by a funeral service beginning at 7:00 PM with Rev. Ray Woods and Arlie Muse officiating. 

The family has entrusted the care of Joe Walter Cook to Martin Wilson Funeral Home “Where Families Matter Most”.
