CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- I’m Jimmy Jefferies, and I am proud to announce my campaign to be your next County Mayor. I have been married to my wife, Liza, for over 20 years. We have two children and two grandchildren. I am a lifelong resident of Campbell County.

Over the past 28 years, I have served our community in numerous capacities. I have worked as a police officer for the City of LaFollette, served as a detective with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department, and then returned to the City of LaFollette to serve as Chief of Police and City Administrator. In my role as City Administrator, I learned how to manage budgets, secure grants, and oversee the general operations of local government. I now work for the Tennessee Department of Safety.

I have a proven work ethic at every stop in my career, and I will bring that same commitment to the County Mayor’s office. When elected, I will work hard to ensure Campbell County continues to move forward.

We need a County Mayor that focuses on lifting up our community. My priorities will be: job recruitment, infrastructure, education, and county services. After losing our two largest factories, Campbell County needs to attract new jobs. As County Mayor, I will aggressively work to bring industry and thriving businesses to invest in our community. With additional business comes the need for additional infrastructure. As a county, we need both industrial and residential infrastructure upgrades, including improvements to waterlines, the electric grid, and traffic capacity for our growing communities.

Education is another key component of our county’s future. I will work with the County Commission, School Board, and Director of Schools to ensure our children and grandchildren receive the best education possible.

As County Mayor, I will also work with the County Commission to ensure county services operate at peak efficiency so the citizens of Campbell County receive the services they both need and deserve. When elected, my door will always be open to the citizens of Campbell County.

For a strong new voice, vote James “Jimmy” Jefferies for Campbell County Mayor. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/09/2026-6AM-PAID)
