The purpose of the meeting is to discuss and take any necessary action regarding the Jacksboro Elementary School gymnasium project.

Jacksboro Elementary School is the second largest school in the county. Only Campbell County High School has a bigger student enrollment.

On July 24, 2024, WLAF reported:

Officials celebrated Jacksboro Elementary School with a groundbreaking for the cafeteria and gym expansion project.  At the time, the cafeteria and gym expansion project was expected to be completed by early fall of 2025.

The $2.490 million dollar project started ahead of the groundbreaking, according to GCE Construction, who is doing the work.

“This expansion will help with the overcrowding in both the gym and the cafeteria, and it will also include some outdoor seating,” Director of Schools Jennifer Fields said.

According to GCE Construction, a “rough estimate for the project completion is 400 days.”
