
JELLICO, TN. (WLAF)- On May 8, Jellico High School welding instructor Chad Seibers hosted an in school MIG welding competition on the T-joint multi pass weld.
The welding competition was sponsored by Holston Gas in Williamsburg, Ky. The judges were Kelly Minton and Jacob Murray.
The students were given directions and time limits to prepare the materials and complete the welding. According to Jellico CTE coach Lisa Bolton, the students did great and enjoyed the competition.
After the welding competition, the judges inspected the weld and awarded 3rd place to David Douglas, 2nd place to John Zecchini, and 1st place to Carson Bolton.

Jellico Welding instructor Chad Seibers and Bolton both said they wanted to say “thank you to Holston Gas for providing a welding helmet for 1st place, and welding gloves for 2nd and 3rd place winners.
A plaque was presented to Kelly Minton for his support from the Campbell County CTE department.
