JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- A representative with the Jellico Farmer’s Market, China Hackler (on above photo), addressed the county commission at its workshop on Monday evening requesting funds to help fund a Pavilion for the Farmer’s Market in Jellico.

The Market received a USDA grant for $75,000 to use on the project and have raised another $7,000, “dollar by dollar” but will still be around $25,000 short on funding.

Once the project is done, it’s “going to look like the old Depot in Jellico.”

County Planner Jordan Rockwell also briefly spoke about the project.

Commissioner Tyler King made a motion to ask Chairman Johnny Bruce and the county mayor to ask the Joint Economic Community Development Board (JECDB) for help with funding on the project.

County Mayor Jack Lynch said the Farmer’s Market in Jellico was growing. Mayor Lynch and Commissioner Rusty Orick invited Rockwell to attend the JECDB meeting on Thursday evening at six to present the request to that board. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-08/12/2025-6AM)
