LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Joint Economic Community Development Board met Thursday evening, briefly discussing the transfer of Jellico Industrial park property to the Industrial Development Board.

This transfer of property allows the Industrial Development Board to sell the property to a company interested in it, according to board chairman Jay Willoughby. 

The property includes 32 acres in the Jellico Oswego Industrial Park. According Willoughby, the property is in process of being surveyed so the board can negotiate the sale.

The company is owned by two local people and two attorneys out of Knoxville, according to County Mayor Jack Lynch, who spoke about it at the July Commission meeting when the commission aporoved the transfer of the property to the Industrial Development Board. 

The company is recycling tires, and plans to build a tire storage facility on the property which has a rail spur on it. Currently the company employs around 24 people locally, with plans for growth.
