James Daugherty age 79, of Caryville went home to be with his Lord and Savior and his wife of 58 years at home while surrounded by his family on March 28, 2025, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother that enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and attending Briceville Church of God, where he was a member, Teacher and Deacon for many years. He was a coal miner for many years and a mechanic.
Preceded in death by: wife Josie Lloyd Daugherty, parents, Willard and Ethel Wallace Daugherty, daughter Margie Daugherty, granddaughter Sasha, Sisters Betty Smith, Donna Tidwell, Margie Leach and brother Boyd Daugherty.
Survived by son Jimmy Daugherty of Caryville, daughters Tammy Williams and husband Gary of Jacksboro, Mary Bavousett and husband Mike of Wichita Falls, Texas, brother Steve Daugherty and wife Patsy of Caryville, Carlene Hill and husband Jerry of Michigan grandchildren Lance, Samatha, Krista, Cody, Macy and Brittany, great grandchildren Levi, Sterling, Josie, Journey, Donvanon and Marlee.
Visitation will be 5:00-7:00 pm on Monday March 31, 2025 in chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral Home with service to follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Jeremiah Wilson and Brother James Wilson officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 am on Tuesday April 1, 2025 at Martin Wilson Funeral Home and go in procession to Daugherty Cemetery for a 11:00 am interment.
