Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met on Thursday

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday afternoon, the Jacksboro Board of Mayor and Aldermen met and worked through the monthly agenda. The agenda contained six items.
The meeting started with the first reading of Ordinance #139 amending section 1-101 of the Jacksboro Municipal Code. This ordinance changes the time and day of the monthly meeting to the fourth Monday of the month at 2 pm. Next was the purchase of an ID machine for the police department using drug fund money though this item was removed from the agenda. The board approved the purchase of a new time clock for the fire department.
Two resignations were approved. First was the resignation of Morgan Cooper as library assistant and next was Casey Geisler as a full time police officer effective Dec. 31, 2025.
The final item approved was the employment of Wesley Summers as a full-time police officer at rate of $17 an hour for a 90 day probationary period. Once Summers completes the probationary period, his pay will increase to $19 an hour. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/09/2026-6AM)
