KNOXVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF) – InterFaith Health Center is set to open its new, larger healthcare facility on Nov. 13. The new home for the healthcare non-profit is not only physically larger, but it will also allow InterFaith to serve more patients than ever with high-quality, comprehensive, affordable healthcare.

“They say there is no place like home, and that’s so true for us, as well,” said InterFaith Health Center Executive Director Melissa Knight. “We are so excited to move into our new home and begin serving more patients in a convenient location all under one roof. And none of this would have been possible without the support of so many private donors and elected leaders in Knox County, the City of Knoxville and the State of Tennessee.”

The ribbon cutting will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13 at 7005 Middlebrook Pike. Knight, as well as other guests and elected officials, will deliver remarks. Members of the media are invited to attend and cover the event.

InterFaith currently operates from four separate buildings. The new facility will allow the healthcare provider to unite all services under one roof in a new 25,000-square-foot facility designed to double patient capacity from 2,000 to 4,000 within three years and triple it to 6,000 within five.

The new location will enhance mental health services through group therapy, additional therapists, and increased mental health space; nearly double medical exam rooms from eight to 15, including specialized rooms for dermatology, ophthalmology, ultrasound, X-ray, and gynecology; expand dental care from seven to 15 exam rooms with an onsite dental lab; on-site medication assistance; and add a wellness and education area featuring a food pantry, an enlarged Healthy Kitchen Classroom, and new space for workforce-development and social service programs.
