JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The county mayor announced on Monday that an industrial development committee meeting was needed, and commissioners decided to hold a meeting this Thursday at 6 pm at the county courthouse to discuss infrastructure grants for the industrial property.
Vice Mayor Randy Brown announced that on Tuesday, the East Tennessee Development District would be working with the Industrial Development Board on a possible $20 million in infrastructure grants.
According to County Mayor Jack Lynch the county needs the grants for an industrial road and for water extension and sewer and electrical in the Eagle Woods/Flatwoods Development.
“They have been working on this for about six months now. It’s a series of grants and we will have to do some work there are things we have to do to make that happen, engineering studies and such, we need some things done, this is why we need to meet with the Industrial Board and discuss this,” Mayor Lynch said.
