A pick-up truck collided with an 18-wheeler near Mile Marker 133 on Tuesday morning

The driver of this pick-up truck was transported to a Knoxville hospital according to one official.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Multiple agencies responded to a two vehicle wreck on I-75 late Tuesday morning at 11:52. As a result of the wreck, a Campbell County man was transported to a Knoxville hospital, according to one official, and the north bound lanes of the interstate were closed for the better part of 90-minutes.

An 18-wheeler was reported to be traveling in the right lane of travel when a Chevy pick-up truck allegedly struck the big rig from behind near mile marker 133. That’s on the hill approaching the Vasper bridge.

This is the 18-wheeler involved in Tuesday morning’s wreck.

Responding agencies included the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department and Caryville Police along with Campbell County EMS and EMA. The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating.
