LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – For 76 years, Hollingsworth Meat Market has served up the freshest cuts of meat in the county and plans to continue that tradition, according to owner Darren Wilson.

Hollingsworth is the place to go for friendly customer service, fresh produce and fresh cuts of meat.

From now through Tues., Feb. 20, Hollingsworth has some amazing deals on meat, produce and other store items! Check out their fresh boneless pork chops for $2.99 a pound, or fresh boneless chicken breast for $2.99 a pound. Fresh sirloin tip roast at $4.99 a pound, and New York Strip Steaks at $9.99 a pound just to name a few. Deli meat and cheese are also on sale, as is potatoes, yellow onions and more!

The market offers a full line of freshly cut meat. Whether its a thick three-inch steak, some freshly shaved deli meat or a 15-pound roast, Hollingsworth has got it. What’s more important, the “meat guys” at Hollingsworth know how to cut it, so that you get the most tender, choice cut of meat around. And people come from all around to buy their meat at Hollingsworth, which has built quite a reputation as the place to get the best grilling steaks and hamburgers.

“Our steaks are very popular; it’s all about the cut,” Wilson said, adding that their hamburger meat was also a local favorite.

Fresh ground beef and steaks ready for the grill. Hollingsworth’s beef is 100 percent pure with no additives or preservatives.

“Our beef is 100 percent natural with no preservatives or additives; we grind it fresh,” Wilson said.

The market purchases its produce from local farmers and growers, when possible, to offer the best local produce around. Hollingsworth is essentially a fully equipped neighborhood grocery store, with neighborhood grocery prices.

Hollingsworth was founded by Aubrey and Retha Hollingsworth in 1948. In 1979, Jimmy Chaniott purchased the business and operated it until March 2014, when it was purchased by Wilson, who said he felt honored to be a part of a business with history like Hollingsworth’s.

“It’s the kind of place where you can know your butcher by name,” Wilson said.

He employs six butchers that together have 100 years of combined meat cutting experience.

Hollingsworth Meat Market has been serving the community for 76 years. They’re currently having a sale on 12 meat items, plus other store items now through Feb. 20

“We care about our customers, which is why we care about our products and our prices,” Wilson said, adding a “big thank you” to all his loyal customers who have supported the business over the years.

The market runs daily sales on both meat and produce. Stop by and stock up for the next cookout, tail-gate party or just to grab some groceries.
