Mayor Jack Lynch plans to talk to TDOT once more about Hwy 63-Stiner Hwy road concerns

Commissioner Dewayne Gibson said that the Wildwood Circle sign on the highway is also half falling off.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Safety concerns and road issues along Highway 63-The General Stiner Highway turnoffs were once again discussed by commissioners at Monday evening’s commission meeting.

County Commissioner Beverly Hall brought the subject up again, saying that “part of Davis Chapel Road is broken off there at the turnoff” and that she felt it was “unsafe”.

Commissioner Beverly Hall, second from right, brought up safety issues on the turnoffs on Highway 63 once again during Monday’s workshop, Commissioner Dewayne Gibson, far left, also said that he had received calls about the road.

County Mayor Jack Lynch said he would reach out to the state’s Department of Transportation officials once more regarding the issue. The county has reached out to the state several times in the past regarding these issues, and have also had meetings with state officials and state representatives regarding the need to have the sharp turnoffs fixed and the lack of turning lanes addressed.

Commissioner Zach Marlow said that next month he would possibly have another resolution to send to the state and that he was discussing with the East Tennessee Development District about issues at the red light at Big O’s Valley.
