‘My area of Florida was spared from the worst part of the hurricane’- State Representative Dennis Powers

DESTIN, FL (WLAF)- “While tornadoes sound like trains, the recent hurricane in Florida sounded like a constant ship horn that continued to blow most of the night (Thursday),” said State Representative Dennis Powers.

Here’s a look at the beach today and the clear weather that followed.

“Destin was spared the worst part of the storm.  Unfortunately, most of Florida and the Southeast were hit the hardest, but Destin only suffered high winds and rain with no storm surge,” said Powers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 09/27/2024-4PM-PHOTOS SUBMITTED)
