A resolution authorizing the submission of a 2026 Community Development Block Grant program application to fund public health and safety was approved. The request is for funding up to the maximum amount of $420,000.00, of which the county would have to match 9-percent, or $41,538.00. Commissioners also approved a tournament event contract between Campbell County and Morristown Marine for the bass fishing tournament on Norris Lake at Lonas Young Park on April 11th. The contract says the county will provide local law enforcement for traffic control on the roadways and boat ramp entry/exit, a crew to manage parking and traffic flow through the ramp lot and shuttle service if parking overflows to an offsite parking location. The county has agreed to provide these amenities for the economic impact the tournament brings to the county. This is the tournament the county does each year.
