‘Thank you for allowing us to serve you these past 50 years’- Scott Lindsay

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – In the early 1970s, brothers Lee and Joe Lindsay worked at the Levi Strauss plant at Knoxville.  Then the plant closed and took the Lindsays’ jobs with them.  Joe Lindsay told WLAF in 2016 that, looking back, the layoff was the best thing that ever happened to him and his brother Lee.

In 1974, the brothers from Pinecrest went into business together co-founding Lindsay’s Carpet and Paint. Lee and Joe have since passed.

Fast forward 50 years, and now Lee’s son Scott has been running the business for decades. Scott’s son Chase Lindsay is helping carry on the family tradition in now the third generation of Lindsays at Lindsay’s Carpet and Paint Center.

Lindsay’s Carpet & Paint Center’s gigantic paint sale continues along with a warehouse clearance of carpet, hardwood, luxury vinyl plank, tile and paint. LVP flooring’s clearance sale price is $1.99 a square foot. That is as long as the supplies last. The store is open from 8am until 4:30pm today, on Saturday.
