GCE reaffirms commitment to JES additions project completion amid industry challenges

JACKSBORO, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- GCE Construction today reaffirmed its full commitment to the successful completion of the Jacksboro Elementary School Additions Project, a project that will provide long-lasting benefits to the Campbell County School District.

“From the beginning, our goal has been to deliver a safe, high-quality facility that will serve the community for decades to come,” said Tim Gaylor, Owner of GCE Construction. “While we, like many in our industry, have faced challenges related to material availability, steel tariffs, and necessary design clarifications, our team has worked diligently to adapt and keep this project moving forward.”

Over the past several months, the construction industry nationwide has experienced impacts from:

  • Global supply chain disruptions and tariffs that have affected steel and other key materials.
  • Design clarifications and coordination items necessary to ensure compliance, safety, and long-term performance.
  • Industry-wide scheduling adjustments as suppliers and contractors address market conditions.

Despite these factors, GCE Construction has continued to:

  • Maintain an active, dedicated project team on-site.
  • Seek alternative supply solutions and sequence work strategically to minimize delays.
  • Work in close collaboration with the municipality, architect, and other stakeholders to keep progress on track.

“Our company is not walking away — we remain here until this project is complete,” Gaylor continued. “We recognize the frustration that delays have caused, and we share the community’s urgency. Every decision we make is guided by one priority: delivering a facility that this community can be proud of.”

The Jacksboro Elementary School Additions Project is currently experiencing progress to essential components of the project as we work with all parties vested in the project, while major systems installation is in progress, and work continues daily. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/03/2025-4PM)
