Freda (Chadwell) Hendon, age 78, of Chattanooga, formerly of LaFollette, passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. She was a member of Mt. Prospect Baptist Church in Ofelia Alabama, and graduated from Carson-Newman College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She was also assistant dietician at Carson-Newman College and she assisted her husband Dr. Bill in his dental practice in LaFollette. Preceded in death by Parents: Tom and Johnnie Spitzer Chadwell Petitt.

Son: James Whit Hendon

Sister-in-law: Paula Hulsebus

Nephews: Tyson, Shane and Corey Hulsebus

Brother: Russell Petitt, several other brothers, relatives and friends

Family will receive friends 12 Noon to 2 PM Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Cross-Smith Funeral Home with funeral service to follow at 2 PM in Cross-Smith Chapel, Rev. O.D. Hill officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery following the service.
