Less than a mile south of I-75 Exit 134 is where single-vehicle mishap occurred

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- I-75’s southbound lanes are closed and traffic is backed up for miles north of Caryville due to a serious motor vehicle accident. At Mile Marker 133.8 just after 2pm, Sunday, is where and when the single-vehicle wreck happened involving an SUV.

Victims had to be extricated by firefighters from the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department. “We flew four patients out by four medical helicopters,” said CVFD Chief Eddie Hatmaker. All four choppers landed a few feet south of the scene which also prompted the temporary closing of the northbound lanes.

This big rig wreck is on Old Highway 63 as some I-75 southbound traffic diverted onto the old highway including this stuck truck.

The major crash spawned three more incidents, a wreck at Mile Marker 136.6 a big rig stuck on the bridge on Old Highway 63 above Red Ash and a Campbell EMS unit has been involved in a wreck near Shoney’s.
