Four lake homes saved, suffer exterior damage

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Twenty four hours and a minute after a Saturday fire, firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service battled structure fires on Sunday afternoon.

At 2:44pm Sunday, the CCRFS was dispatched to Flat Hollow Marina Road on the report of a house fire. “Upon arrival, our crews found two out buildings on fire. That fire had already spread to four other homes. Crews, including mutual aid from the La Follette Fire Department, were able to contain the fire to the exterior of the four homes with no damage to the inside,” said CCRFS Chief Daniel Lawson.

Nine volunteer firefighters with the CCRFS responded using a fire engine and two tankers. LFD sent a fire engine and two firefighters. Campbell EMS and Sheriff’s Deputy responded.
Chief Lawson explains that the wind coming off Norris Lake along with all the structures being so close to each other presented real challenges.

There were no injuries, and crews cleared the scene at 4:45pm Sunday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/05/2026-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF CCRFS CHIEF DANIEL LAWSON)
