Fire and smoke in the valley catching a lot of looks

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- WLAF’s Charlie Hutson thought this house is gone from the looks of the high flames and dark smoke as he approached West Carr Drive across from Big O’s. In fact, it wasn’t that at all. Late Tuesday afternoon, a person was burning debris, and the flames and smoke could be seen all up and down the valley.

Firefighters with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service responded.

This is a controlled burn with a three-day burn permit, and there are people with the fire, according to officials with the CCRFS. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/06/2026-6PM)
