LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- For the past two weekends, Postmark LaFollette’s newest play “Fiddlesticks” has drawn a crowd to the old post office. Written by Campbell County’s very own playwright Tony Branam, “Fiddlesticks” tells the story of a young girl who dreams of playing in the LaFollette Fiddle Convention in 1920, something that at that time, was open only to men.

Postmark LaFollette’s original play “Fiddlesticks” drew a crowd to the old LaFollette Post Office the past two weekends. “Fiddlesticks” was written by Campbell County’s own Tony Branam, pictured at far left.

Deciding to dress like a man and enter the contest to help save the family farm causes some mayhem of its own. With comedy abound, and a bit of good old-fashioned humor, the play had toes tapping and the audience laughing from beginning to end. Showcasing local talent and original music and songs, “Fiddlesticks” also pays homage to Appalachian roots with some old timey pickin’ and playin’, along with hymns and prayers.

Community theater at its finest could be found the past two weekends at Postmark LaFollette’s play “Fiddlesticks”. With original music and laugh out loud comedy, Campbell County’s very own playwright Tony Branam has done it again! Fiddlesticks!

Author’s note: I would just like to say how wonderful it is to have community theater in LaFollette. “Fiddlesticks” had all the heart and panache of a big city production, but with a quaint hometown feel that had me singing and praying right along Henrietta Fincastle!  (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-05/13/2025-6AM)
