Victim’s pick up was broken down on I-75 between Exits 134 and 141

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Charges in a fatal truck wreck are pending the outcome of a Tennessee Highway Patrol investigation. A Pioneer woman lost her life in the early Saturday morning wreck on I-75 here in Campbell County.
The THP’s preliminary report details that Anna Nelson’s 2001 Toyota Tacoma was disabled in lane three of three lanes of I-75 north near the 136 mile marker. A Freightliner Cascadia was traveling northbound in lane three close to the same mile marker, 136, and attempted to avoid the Toyota. However, Nelson was outside her truck and in front of it when the 18-wheeler rear ended the Tacoma.
The pick up ended up in the middle of lanes one and two. The big rig came to a stop off the right side of the roadway.
Nelson, 69, died from injuries sustained in the collision. The Freightliner was driven by 35-year old Viktor Pogarelov of Gaffney, South Carolina. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/01/2025-6AM)
