Caryville Planning Commission meets

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- On Thursday afternoon, the Caryville Planning Commission met with one item of new business on the agenda.
The commission approved the minutes of the previous meeting on Sept. 7.
The new business item was a site plan for an accessory structure (metal carport) at 152 Jackson Rd, Caryville. The structure is in an R-1 zone and was requested by Claudia Lee. The item was approved.
Harold Edwards, Contract Regional Planner with the East Tennessee Development District, spoke to the commission about the expected growth in the Oak Ridge area by 2030. Edwards spoke about the impact the growth will have on surrounding counties that are within an hour’s drive of Oak Ridge. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/10/2025-6AM)
