The summer intern is making the most of her turn on the radio

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Many an intern has gotten their start at WLAF, and 16 year old Emily Jones is the latest.

Young Emily is a rising junior at Campbell County High School, and she has already set goals. “I’m going to be a television news anchor,” said a smiling Jones. Given her enthusiasm, nice looks and smooth voice, she’s already on her way.

Jones is all smiles just before going on the air.

Emily’s only been here a few weeks, and she’s already delivering weather forecasts, making a lot of announcements, recorded and live, and she’s catching on quickly.

There’ll come a time in the not so distant future when we here at WLAF will say “we knew her when”. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-07/16/2025-6AM)
