JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Pets are part of our families. The pets featured each week need a family. This week is Elkie.

Elkie is a hilarious boy who enjoys life and knows that every day is a celebration. He is a neutered male, approximately two years of age, has a beautiful silky short black coat with a white chest and four white tipped paws. Elkie is a mix of lab, retriever, and all other loving breeds.

Meet Elkie

He weighs about 58 pounds and thankfully Campbell County Animal Shelter has nursed him back to this healthy weight. He has a microchip and is a fantastic companion. Elkie loves to play, run, and meet and greet everyone. If he had two legs, he would be the best Walmart greeter in the USA. Elkie loves his shelter roommates, even Wilbur the resident Pig.

Elkie is up for an adventure, wants to explore and say hello to everyone especially if they offer free belly rubs. If you too are the positive human who is active, likes to explore new places, go for long walks, possibly even some runs and wants an amazing sidekick then Elkie is your man.

If you would like to adopt Elkie, or any pet, the adoption center is open Tue. through Sat. from noon until 5:30pm. The center is located 749 Towe String Road, Jacksboro and can be reached at 423-566-8018.
