‘Elk Stone at Lake Norris’ proposes 678 homes; community starts petition

LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- While Crafted Milestone, LLC continues plans to build a development in the Shanghai Community, WLAF has learned the proposed plans could put the house count well above 600.

The company submitted a site plan to the Campbell County Planning Commission last fall. The plan depicts 558 single family homes. However, it offers an alternative plan. A 25-acre tract designated for 23 homes could be converted to allow condominiums. This would be a net increase of 120 residences on the 525 acres bringing the number of homes to 678, according to the map.

Crafted Milestone, LLC has commissioned a road study, according to WLAF sources. The findings must be brought before the county planning commission.

In the meantime, community members have started a petition to stop ‘Elk Stone at Lake Norris.’ To sign the petition CLICK HERE.

The group believes the proposed development comes with multiple problems ranging from increased traffic on an already narrow road, harm to the environment and a shift in the area’s culture.
