Eleanor “Irene” McCartt, age 93 of Clinton

Eleanor “Irene” McCartt, age 93 of Clinton, Tennessee passed away on September 26, 2025 at the Norris Health and Rehab in Andersonville. Irene was born in Coal Creek, Tennessee to the late Walter and Bertha Isabell Lindsay on May 20, 1932. She worked for 25 years as a cashier for KMART and 28 years at Walmart. She was an Evangelical Christian. Irene and Tom moved to Akron Ohio in 1952 to raise their family, then returned to East Tennessee after retiring in 1995. She loved reading, and was grateful for the Institute for the Blind in her final year for providing audio books. Irene loved also loved flowers. In addition to her parents, Irene is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Marshall Thomas McCartt, her brothers: Bedford Lindsay, Vernon Lindsay, Raymond Lindsay, and Herbert Isabell, sisters: Ruby Warwick, Bessie Harmon, child: Mary Susan Starnes, son in law: Mike Kallai, grandsons: Michael Kallai Jr, Scotty McCartt.

Numerous great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews from the Lindsay and Bullock & McCartt families.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Sam Foust Cemetery in Lake City at 10:30 AM.
