LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A partnership between Pastor Jacob Cochran and the congregation of East La Follette Baptist Church and the La Follette Middle School PTO has resulted in food being donated to LMS students. On Monday afternoon, a huge haul of food was delivered to LMS.

“Making sure no one goes hungry weighs heavy on our hearts. The families of around 60% of the students here at LMS receive some type of benefit, and this will help make sure that kids are fed and ready to go to school each day,” said Elizabeth Lawson, PTO President.

LMS Cheerleaders pitched in after school on Monday to help.

“This ministry allows us to connect with our school and community. We’ve gathered all kinds of food a youngster can quickly heat and eat,” said Cochran.

A lot of food favorites for middle schoolers was delivered to LMS on Monday afternoon.

“The church reached out to us asking how it could become more involved with LMS. We offered some ideas of what type foods would work,” said Lawson.

This is just a portion of the donations.

This donation will also help as weekend food bags are prepared. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/18/2025-6AM-PHOTOS COURTESY OF WLAF’S CHARLIE HUTSON)
