Donald “Bird” Baird, age 61, of LaFollette

Mr. Donald “Bird” Baird, age 61, of LaFollette, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and would help anyone, no matter the day or time.  Bird was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.  He is preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Bessie (Brandenburg) Baird, brothers, Roger Baird, David Baird, and Tilman Baird, and sister, Portia Lane. 

He is survived by his wife, Anne Baird; Daughters, Ariel Gibson, Brandy Rose, and Megan Leach; grandchildren, Kenzie Rose, Morgan Rose, Kayden Gibson, and Isaiah Boshears; great-granddaughter, Oaklinn Dow; brothers, Allen Baird and wife, Gail, Carl Lane and wife, Rinda, and Carl Baird; sisters, Ruthie Hendren and husband, Michael, and Rinda Rains and husband, Brad; special cousin, John E. Baird, and special nephew, Barry Baird.  Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home Chapel.  Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Lester Bolton officiating.  Family and friends will meet on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, 10:00 A.M. at Walters Funeral Home and proceed to Locust Stump Cemetery for 11:00 A.M. Graveside Services and Interment.  Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Donald “Bird” Baird.
