
NASHVILLE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)— State Rep. Dennis Powers, R-Jacksboro, has been named the 2025 Champion of Business by the Tennessee Employee Benefits Alliance (TEBA).
The award recognizes Powers’ leadership on policies that give businesses more flexibility and keep employees’ retirement benefits secure across Tennessee.

“The TEBA has made a remarkable contribution to business excellence in Tennessee,” Powers said. “It is an honor to receive this prestigious award and I will always be committed to promoting economic development and business in my district and across the state.”
Michael Curcio, chairman of TEBA, presented the award.
“With his deep understanding of insurance and constant support for self-insured employers, Representative Powers was a powerful advocate for a business-friendly Tennessee this past session,” Curcio said. “It was a true honor to recognize his leadership and present him with the Champion of Business award. We look forward to working with him to continue standing up for employers and their right to affordable and accessible benefits.”
State Senator Brent Taylor, R-Memphis, also received the Champion of Business award.
