Cynthia “Cindi” Elaine Woolum Ariks was born on April 5, 1959, in Rockwood, Tennessee. She left her earthly life on May 28, 2024, at her home in Kingston. Cindi was a baptized Christian and knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She now resides safely in her Father’s arms.
Cindi, as she is known to her family and friends, loved life. She was a free and happy spirit that denied convention and chose to live life on her terms. Anyone who knew Cindi knew that she would give the shirt off her back to anyone less fortunate. She stood up for the underdog and scorned any prejudicial treatment of anyone for any reason. She abhorred mistreatment of people or animals. Cindi had a heart for all animals and at an early age, began rescuing animals, many of which became lifelong pets. She loved her dogs and cats. She took in many baby birds to care for until they could fly. It broke her heart when any of them did not survive. Cindi was a Nascar enthusiast who began her love of the sport with the great Dale Earnhart, attending several of his racing events. She also loved camping and the Tennessee Vols.
Cindi loved fiercely. She loved her family. Her greatest passion was loving and doting on her grandson, great-grandchildren and nieces. She absolutely loved and adored them all, and they returned her love. They will miss her happy smile and loving affection.
Cindi was predeceased by her paternal grandparents William G. and Jessie Mae Potter Woolum; maternal grandparents B. Maynard and Fannie Alice Clark Human; stepfather, Donald Gene Burney; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Cindi leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Billy Joe Ariks; son and his wife, Michael David and Dani Greenwell; grandson and his wife, Devin Cayne and Randi Greenwell, and grandson Jaxon Greenwell; great grandchildren Evy and Bastion Greenwell; mother Mary H. Burney; father and stepmother Jack and Diane Woolum; sister Tina Clark; nieces Casey, Kinzee and Linzee Clark, Logan Long and husband Eric, nephew Alex Clark and wife Allison. Great nieces Adaline and Charlotte Long, and great nephew Leo Clark. She also leaves behind several aunts and uncles, and a host of cousins.
