One person transported to the hospital

This home was fully involved when the first unit rolled up to the scene.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A man and a woman escaped their burning home with their lives just after 2am Friday. The Campbell County Rural Fire Service was paged out at 2:20am to the home on Davis Road, just off Glade Springs Road.

The structure was fully involved when the first unit rolled up to the scene. Several firefighters and CCRFS units responded to their eighth call since 11pm Thursday.

Wind gusts hampered firefighters.

There were strong wind gusts most all night, and it played a role in battling the fire. “The wind pushed the fire faster through the structure,” said CCRFS Chief Daniel Lawson.

No other homes were threatened with the closest being 50 yards away.

The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to the La Follette Medical Center by Campbell EMS.

A Campbell County Deputy also responded. “She was a big help,” said Chief Lawson.

Responders cleared the scene at 4:50am Friday.

“Since eleven last night, we responded to five trees down with power lines, an EMS assist and another possible structure fire, but that ended up being just a street light,” said Lawson. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/19/2025-6AM-PHOTOS SUBMITTED)
