LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – LaFollette Police Sgt. Noah Riggs recently responded to a possible drug deal in progress in the O’Reilly Auto Parts parking lot after receiving a call from LPD Lt. Matt Forsyth. When Riggs arrived, while still on the phone with Forsyth, Riggs parked in the Krystal parking lot adjacent to O’Reilly’s and began observing with binoculars.

While parked, on the morning of Mon. July 10, Riggs saw a female identified as Staci Celeste Thompson exit a white Ford Expedition from the passenger side and go to a white Infinity SUV and retrieve something. As she was returning to the Ford Expedition, the sergeant could see money in her right hand, according to a report from the LaFollette Police Department.

Forsyth told Riggs when Thompson returned, he observed a hand to hand transaction between Thompson and a man identified as Glenn Wayne McCullah.  Thompson and McCullah talked for a couple minutes, and then she returned to her Expedition. Neither of the individuals ever entered the auto parts store. Riggs and Forsyth both made contact with the two individuals and advised them of the observations and told them they were not detained and were free to leave.

Riggs then learned through dispatch that McCullah had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. At this point, Officer Zack Daughtery arrived with K-9 Goose and performed a free air sniff of the Expedition, and K-9 Goose alerted to the passenger side front door. Officers then found in the center console a new blue baggie with a crystal like substance believed to be Meth weighing approximately .75 grams. Also with the blue baggie was a glass rose bowl with burn marks on the bowl. Riggs then searched the Infinity. During the search, officers found a fake cigarette pack that transformed into a set of digital scales that contained a crystal like substance on the scale itself.

McCullah, 51, 142 Coolidge Rd, LaFollette was charged with capias/bench warrant and drug paraphernalia. Thompson, 33, 31117 Ridge Rd, Robbins was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of schedule II controlled substance.

McCullah and Thompson were released the same day of their arrests. Each is due in court Tuesday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/20/2023-6AM)
