JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- The Campbell County Commission meets in its regular monthly meeting today at 6pm at the courthouse at Jacksboro.
The county commission held its workshop last Monday evening, setting agenda items for this week with a resolution establishing “guidelines of contributionsâ€, as well as changes to the county travel policy set for a vote.
A resolution establishing “guidelines regarding the appropriation of contributions by the County Commission for needs that arise throughout the year†is on tonight’s agenda.
The 12th revision to the county’s travel policy will also be voted on. Commissioners said they would review what changes had occurred before tonight’s meeting.
Accepting the bid for the jail and courthouse security upgrades will be voted on at this evening’s commission meeting. The contract includes several change orders that will allow the purchase of a transport vehicle for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department and other items.
At last week’s workshop, commissioners briefly discussed the construction project. Prior to the workshop, the Jail Committee approved the Jail/Courthouse Security System Upgrade Construction Contract with the low bidder ECC in the amount of $1,432,869.89, including a $65,000 contingency allowance.
County Commissioners will make it official tonight, allocating $100,000 in ARPA funds to the two senior citizen centers in the county. Commissioners passed the budget amendment last month appropriating the leftover ARPA funds and designating them to the area senior centers. However, both senior centers provided paperwork, and commissioners will vote to “make it official and spend the money†at tonight’s meeting. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/16/2024-6AM)
