Central wins over Campbell 67-35

FOUNTAIN CITY, TN (WLAF) – Your Cougars headed to Fountain City on Tuesday to face Central, a team that Campbell beat 63-58 at Brown Gym on January 26th.

Jordan Day, Luke Browning and Gavin Cox all had threes in the first frame. At the end of the first quarter, the Cougars trailed the Bobcats 16-9.

The Bobcats asserted their dominance on the Cougars in the second quarter. Central outscored Campbell 26-8 in the second frame to lead the Orange-and-Blue 42-17 at halftime.

In the third and fourth quarters, Central continued to dominate Campbell in every aspect of the game. At the end of the third, the Bobcats led 62-27, and the final score was 67-35.

Gavin Cox was the top scorer for Campbell with seven points. Will Croley and Jake Hatmaker had six points apiece. Luke Browning scored five points. Jordan Day totaled four points. Tyler Kitts contributed three points. Cole Miller and Keegan Nelson tallied two points apiece.

Campbell drops to 7 and 17 overall;1 and 8 in District 3-AAAA. The Cougars have one final shot at another regular season district victory. The Orange-and-Blue get that opportunity Friday night at Brown Court against the Karns Beavers. The Lady Cougars tip at 6 pm and the Cougars play at 7:30.
