Campbell earns first victory of the new year, 70-60 over Knoxville Ambassadors

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- On Monday night, the Cougars defeated the Knoxville Ambassadors 70-60 on Brown Court. With the win, Campbell rings up its first win of the new year all the while snapping a 10-game losing streak.

Tuesday night, the Cougars host the Powell Panthers in a District 3-AAAA contest at 7:30. In the first meeting on Jan. 13., at Hunter Gym, Powell won 68-43. The Cougars are 5 & 17, 0 & 8 in the district, while Powell is 9 & 13 with a 5 & 4 district record.

Here’s how the nine day stretch of games breaks down for Campbell Basketball. CCHS played at Knoxville West on Fri., a Lady Cougar win; a Cougar loss. Then, this week, CC hosted the Knoxville Ambassadors on Mon. sweeping both games. On Tue., Powell visits CCHS, Knoxville Central plays at Campbell on Thu. and on Sat., CC plays at Huntsville against Scott. It will be a varsity affair only with Scott on Valentine’s Day as the Lady Cougars game begins at 4pm with the Cougars game to follow at 5:30pm.
