Campbell hosts the Sweetwater Wildcats on Friday, live televised coverage is here from WLAF

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- It’s been said the best way to defend a team’s Wing-T offense is to not schedule that team. In this case, Sweetwater is “that” team, and it’s on the Campbell County Cougars schedule. “The Wing-T poses a lot of problems and they do it very well,” said Cougar Head Coach Taylor Ownbey.

The Cougars are coming off a good day of practice on Tuesday as patches of mist and rain fell at times. “We are going to have to be very disciplined on the defensive side of the ball. Offensively we are working on finding our match ups that we like and hopefully be disciplined enough to execute at a high level,” said Coach O.
Sweetwater is 3 & 3 and is a handful of points away from being 5 & 1. Last Friday, the Wildcats, of Region 2 AAA, won 47-33 at Austin-East. Sweetwater hung 65 points on Sequoyah in the season opener. The Cougars fell 49-0 at 4th ranked Powell on October 3.

“Sweetwater is another tough opponent. So, we will continue to work hard throughout the next two days and hopefully be ready for Friday night,” said Coach Ownbey.

Kick-off is set for 7pm Friday. WLAF has all the live coverage beginning at 6:15pm with the presentation of Homecoming and the crowning of the queen.
For the 15th season, Les Martin, and Brent Allen send you the coverage of Cougar Football over the WLAF Doyle’s Tire Sports Network which spans ten WLAF media platforms. Watch live Friday night over WLAF TV-1089 on Comcast-Xfinity, 1450wlaf.com, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Facebook, YouTube and Twitch. Listen in over WLAF Radio AM 1450 & FM 100.9 and Amazon Alexa.
All the coverage begins with The Bullock Law Firm Countdown to Kick-off at 6:15pm. Former Cougar Jake Miller joins Martin and Allen this season as the Cougars sideline reporter. Kick-off for this non-region game between Campbell and Sweetwater is 7pm with Homecoming festivities taking place
