Hustling is the order of the day at Cougar practices as ‘hurry, hurry’ can be heard often from Campbell coaches

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Campbell football players are learning to hustle as if their hair’s on fire, because that’s their new coach’s pace. First year, veteran Head Coach Mark Pemberton preaches to his players that hustling at practice is conditioning. It’s like an army of ants, because at Cougar practices, no player is standing around. Players are either in a drill or ready to be up next for a drill.

“You gotta love to hit! Wrap him up!,” exclaimed Coach Mark Pemberton. 81 Lucas Ornellas closes in on 19 Sam Sexton.

24 Braydon Graham holds the tackling dummy as 22 Tyler Kettlehake lunges forward to wrap it up.

Rain fell at Wednesday morning’s practice session as Toby Keith blared over the field speakers all the while practice kept going at its quickened pace.

“Shoulders over toes!,” shouts Coach Mark Pemberton as 81 Lucas Ornellas gets ready to make a play on the pass the coach is about to throw.
