KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County started district play 0-2 after dropping a twin bill on Wednesday on the road against West.
It was all the West Rebels show Wednesday night for a pair of makeup games from the snow Monday and freezing temperatures Tuesday. Game one’s final was 10-0 and game two of the doubleheader ended at 15-0; both victories for the Rebels.
The Cougars fought the freezing temperatures and tough pitching from their opposition. They tallied only a few hits in the first bout and were a combined no-hit in the second.
The pitching for CC through both games saw productive innings from Rylan Rice and Riley Gunter before West was able to tag them both for crooked numbers and big innings, respectively.
The Campbell County Cougars return to action this afternoon at home in a rematch against the Oneida Indians. It’s a radio-television-website-social media broadcast Thursday afternoon-evening, and you are invited to join the “Voice of the Cougars” Jake Monday, the former Cougar, along with color commentary from former La Follette Owl Mike “Catfish” Miller for all the fun over WLAF of Campbell’s non-district home game with the Oneida Indians on top of Brown-Archer Field. The WLAF Doyle’s Tire Sports Network spans ten WLAF media platforms. Listen and watch beginning at 5:30pm on Thursday as Campbell plays over WLAF TV-1089 on Comcast-Xfinity, 1450wlaf.com, Roku TV, Amazon Fire TV, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, WLAF Radio AM 1450 & FM 100.9 and Amazon Alexa.
