Wlaf1450Karns 80-71 win was much closer than the final numbers indicate
KARNS, TN (WLAF)- Campbell rang up the first eight points of the game on Tuesday as it faced long time rival Karns on the Beavers home floor. Karns came back and even held double-digit leads, but the Cougars were not going away hanging tough in the 80-71 loss.
After six quarters of just scoring a handful of points from Monday’s game at Loudon until halftime at Karns, Will Croley had the biggest half of scoring in his career. The Junior lit up Karns for 21 second half points last night to finish as the game’s top scorer with 25 including an invigorating dunk.
Scoring for the Cougars goes like this- Croley 25, Jake Hatmaker 15, Caden Heatherly 9, Jack Sexton 8, Koalton Cupp 7, Hunter Dotson 7. Braydon Graham and Sam Sexton played and did not score.
Overall, the Cougars are 4 & 15 and winless through six district outings. Campbell is determined to snap its eight game skid come Friday at Halls. Karns improves to 10 & 7 and more importantly to 4 & 3 in District 3-AAAA games.
