At Oak Ridge on Monday, the Cougars improve to 3 & 0

The tennis courts at Jackson Square is where Campbell defeated Oak Ridge.

OAK RIDGE, TN (WLAF)- Coach Rusty Fields Campbell Tennis teams split with the Wildcats on Monday afternoon at the Jackson Square Courts at Oak Ridge. “It was a big win for our boys, and the girls went down to the wire, playing so hard,” said Coach Fields.

It was close through most all the Lady Cougars matches with Danni Hammac winning 8-6. Meret Grueter had the day’s lone singles shutout at 8-0. Cheyenne Duncan won her singles match by a final of 8-3. Hammac and Duncan teamed for an 8-0 doubles win. Oak Ridge nipped the Lady Cougars 5-4.

Will Croley nearly blanked his opponent with an 8-1 win while David Marcosano, Hunter Dotson and Jack Stooksbury won their matches 8-6. It was an 8-5 victory for Braxton Fox. The doubles teams of Croley-Marcosano, Malachi Meisel-Dotson, Stooksbury-Fox swept their matches as Campbell dominated Oak Ridge for the 8-1 win.
