JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – The Campbell County Commission approved several building and grounds issues on Monday evening, as well as two board appointments, among other business.

Last week commissioners discussed several projects that had been recommended by the building and grounds committee. These include the need for EMS living quarters to be renovated, as well as the bathroom and storage area renovations at the EMS station.

Commissioners approved to seek estimates on these projects at Monday’s meeting.

Commissioner Dewayne Gibson said last week at the workshop that the plan was to do the renovations in three phases.

Phase one includes the renovation of the living quarters, while phase two includes drywall, and painting in the secretary’s office and phase three is replacing all the roll up doors.

Commissioners approved building and grounds issues and two board appointments at Monday’s Commission meeting.

Upgrades to Register of Deeds Brittany Foust’s office were also approved. The cost is $5,550 and the work in Foust’s office will be done in house.

Also approved was for the sheriff to place signs around the courthouse campus that state “for business entrance only.”

Also approved was a resolution setting the terms on the sale of a double wide trailer with an air conditioner and a temporary electric pole that the county “needs gone.” The terms of the sale are set at no reserve price and the financial management system is to take sealed bids. Whoever buys it will have 30 days to have it removed. If not removed in 30 days, the buyer forfeits the money, and it will be re-listed.

Commissioners also approved two board appointments on Monday evening on County Mayor Jack Lynch’s recommendation.

County Commissioners say the pledge of allegiance before Monday’s Commission meeting.

Dwight Osborn was appointed to the County Equalization Board to replace Larry Nidiffer.

Rob Woodson was appointed to the Industrial Development Board to replace John Branam, who has moved out of state and therefor stepped down from his position.
