JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- County Commissioners approved the $1,432,869.89 contract for the jail and courthouse security upgrades at Monday’s regular monthly meeting. The contract included several change orders that will allow the purchase of a transport vehicle for the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department and other items.

Prior to last week’s workshop, the Jail Committee approved the Jail/Courthouse Security System Upgrade Construction Contract with the low bidder (Electronic Contracting Company) ECC in the amount of $1,432,869.89, including a $65,000 contingency allowance. ECC is based out of Lincoln, Nebraska.

The contract also includes several change orders that reduced the cost of the project by $57,301.49 through “utilizing some less costly network switches and PC with these savings to be used to provide for a transportation vehicle and other small equipment needs in the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office.”

A five-year extended warranty proposal from ECC on the security system at a cost of $21,850 per year was also approved.

All three motions were unanimously approved by commissioners. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/17/2024-6AM)
