Mr. Clyde E. Byrge, age 76, of Jacksboro passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at Parkwest Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on June 16, 1949, in Clinchmore, Tennessee, to the late Rev. Tom Byrge and Minnie Rose (Davis) Byrge.
Clyde proudly served his country as a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a faithful member and Deacon of Cherry Bottom Baptist Church and was well known for his love of gospel music. Clyde was a gifted singer and spent many years leading the singing at Central Baptist Church, a ministry that touched the hearts of many.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Sue Byrge; and his siblings: Catherine Byrge, Lamon Byrge, Evelyn Jones, Marshall Byrge, Rev. James Byrge, Carol Hutson, and Joyce Swangin.
He is survived by his wife, Ginger Marshall of Townsend; his sons, Darrell Byrge and wife Jana of Jellico, and Tim Byrge and wife Tonya of Jacksboro; his grandchildren, Cody Byrge and wife Morgan, Tanner Byrge and Gabby, Reid Byrge, and Keilee Byrge; and his great-grandchildren, Blaire Byrge, Deacon Byrge, and Colter Byrge.
He is also survived by his siblings: Ella Mae Byrge of LaFollette; Robert Byrge and wife Carla of LaFollette; and Warren Byrge and wife Pamela of Jacksboro; along with a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
The receiving of friends and funeral services will be held at Cherry Bottom Baptist Church, but service dates have yet to be finalized at this time. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Mr. Clyde E. Byrge.
