Sandra Fuller, the Children’s Center Board President, welcomed everyone out to the event. Board member and CEO of Tennova LaFollette Medical Center, Mark Cain, delivered the opening prayer.

The Master of Ceremonies was Jared Effler, District Attorney General of the 8th Judicial District and Campbell County Children’s Center Board member (above). Effler introduced special guest Koren Fogelsanger (below) who shared a bit of her testimony as to what the Children’s Center has meant to her.

Tracie Davis, Executive Director of the Campbell County Children’s Center, introduced long time WATE news anchor Lori Tucker, the event’s keynote speaker. Tucker shared some moving stories about some of the children she has interviewed over the years. She even shared something about me as I had the privilege and honor of meeting Lori in 2017, the year WLAF was awarded the Business of the Year by the Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism.

All of this led up to a presentation by Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch of a proclamation presented to Tracie Davis (below) and members of the Campbell County Children’s Center staff recognizing the month of April as National Child Abuse Prevention Month.

To the Campbell County Children’s Center, thank you for 25 years of committed service in this community and for also putting on such an impressive event like this. Your service to the community is greatly appreciated.
