County had $113,133,000 in direct visitor economic impact in 2022

According to Tennesseevacation.com statistics for 2022, Campbell County ranks 21 in the state for visitor spending.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Campbell County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Executive Director Missy Tackett presented her monthly update during the county commission’s workshop on Monday evening.
She provided data regarding the economic impact of tourism dollars spent in the county and how the county ranks state-wide.
According to Tennesseevacation.com statistics for 2022, the county ranks 21 in the state for visitor spending.
The 2022 Campbell County Travel Snapshot shows the county had $113,133,000 in direct visitor economic impact. Dollars were spent by visitors on lodging, food and beverages, recreation, transportation and retail.

Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Executive Director Missy Tackett addressed the county commission on Monday evening giving an economic impact report for the county.
Tourism dollars have a significant impact on Campbell County.
This economic impact report attributes 15.5-percent of retail and non-retail sales in Campbell County to travel and tourism.
This is up by seven percent from 2021.

Tackett also provided some quick stats, saying tourism dollars spent in the county “saves residents” more than $500 a year in state taxes.
“Visitor spending injects real money into our community. Tourism is such a big part of what we do and what we promote,” Tackett said.
She also told commissioners that the chamber of commerce receives calls each week about Lonas Young RV Park and Campground and that it was a popular addition to the county. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/09/2024-6AM)
