JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- Teachers make a difference in their students’ lives every day. For many students, having a teacher who cares and goes that extra mile can be the difference in a successful education and graduation. We’ve all had that teacher who inspired us or helped in some way. That’s why WLAF and Eagle Tire Pros salute all of our hard-working educators with a weekly feature.

Chad Seibers is Eagle Tire Pros Teacher of the Week! He teaches at Jellico High School.

This week’s featured teacher is Chad Seibers. He is the Welding instructor at Jellico High School and is in his 22nd year as an educator.

Seibers is from Terry Creek in Pioneer. He attended Elk Valley Elementary school and then went to Jellico High School.

“I attended the Hobert Welding Institute where I obtained my certified welding educator license,” Seibers said.

His hobbies include hunting and hunting dogs.

“I love hunting and just a few months ago started hunting squirrel with mountain cur dogs. I have started a mountain cur breeding program so that I may be able to share this great breed of dogs,” Seibers said.

Seibers teaches welding at Jellico High School and this August marks his 22nd year as a welding instructor. He spent 14 years teaching in Kentucky and eight teaching at Jellico. He said he loves his job and gives credit to “the Lord” for leading him into his teaching career.

“I would have to say God opened the door and I had to walk in. I just love being around the students and trying to help them get a great career that will give them a great life. I would like to thank God for putting me where I am and my wife and daughters for their continued support,” Seibers said.

He also wanted to thank several of his own educators who inspired him along the way.

“Thanks to Gilbert Lay for never giving up on me at Elk Valley school and Danny Oaks for the support as a student at Jellico High School as well as being a great friend and principal when I started teaching at JHS,” Seibers said.
